The Dynaudio Audience 5 compact speakers was part of the very first Audience series back in 1995-1997. It was part of a 3 model series. Apparently, the Audience 5 was the smallest of its Audience 10 and Audience 15 brothers. Later on, the Audience 5 was effectively replaced by the Audience 50 and the 50 was replaced by the 52. The Audience 5 speakers guarantees almost unlimited dynamics, without peaks and valleys in the frequency response, and true high end precision. In the bass, and despite its compact dimensions, the Audience 5 takes compromises: Dynaudio's 76mm magnum voice coil is three times larger than the average voice coil which means greater control and improved power handling. It also comes with a phase-optimized membrane geometry, tightly defined inner damping and fully ventilated center magnet system. It has criminally good drivers and a well-camouflaged enclosure adds up to an offer one cannot refuse. The midrange on these speakers is excellent, such as guitars and vocals. However being shelf speakers, they seem to be a bit lacking in the bottom end. On the whole, they have very detailed and good soundstage. But for its price, nothing compares to the Dynaudio Audience 5 speakers in their detail of the sound.
