Description :
The REL Stadium 2 is one subwoofer that sounds better than most subwoofers with higher rated power. It is suitable for music buffs who also appreciate old movies (most of them contain music). This outstanding performance is due in part to an incredible enclosure, internal DC amplification and a superior 10" driver. It comes along with a high level input cable that runs from the main amplifier's speaker terminals into an internal variable crossover allowing for seamless blending with the main speakers. The REL Stadium 2 even duplicates the amplifier's sonic signature since it is fed the amplifier's speaker level signal, which has a strong 100k ohms resistance drawing insignificant current.
Compared to other subwoofers, the REL Stadium 2 recreates bass information powerfully and honestly, rather than just vibrating. It gives a full bottom end, and is fast with great low level detail. Imaging is more detailed, and the soundstage opens up. When no bass is playing, it becomes very silent. Midrange is also affected; it turns the sound warmer and softer which may help with some harsh recordings. Positioning the REL Stadium 2 needs patience and perseverance. It takes some time to find an optimum room position, and then even more to get the fine and coarse tuning right. But after all the hassle, the user is generously rewarded with a satisfying musical experience.
