The Dynaudio Contour 1.3 loudspeakers are manufactured and assembled by hand in Denmark with special attention to details. The loudspeakers are meticulously built in-house and then rigorously selected and checked, through measurements and listening. They may not be the most impressive combination of the fashionable ideas of the moment, instead they prioritize careful detail development. The tweeter combines elements of a propriatory unsurpassed Esotar T-330 D with features from the Esotec D-260 for a combination of power and musicality. The speakers feature a ferrofluid damped resonance and a featherlight aluminum voice coil. They have almost limitless dynamics, and a linear frequency response, free from peaks and dips, even above 20 kHz. The bass driver sets new standards especially for the reproduction of low frequencies using an oversized voice coil, which assures perfect control of even the most minute membrane displacement. The Dynaudio Contour 1.3 speakers are designed with a flat and linear group delay membrane geometry, the magnesium polymer membrane material with exact defined damping characteristics, and a vented center magnet system. It has a frequency-dependent active surface that creates a constant off-axis response and extreme dynamic capabilities. The enclosure has been further stiffened at the resonance nodes by computer-calculated reinforcements to allow a completely uncolored reproduction of the all-important midrange.
The Dynaudio Contour 1.3 is detailed and dynamic, and enhances the music hugely, particularly in the midrange. Even at high volume levels, the 1.3s enclosure does not color the midrange in any way. The midrange and highs are very vibrant, powerful and dynamic, while being very accurate. Bass is very well tuned and never exaggerated. They are absolutely phenomenal with reproducing voices, it is just pure and faithful to whatever music played. Imaging and sound staging is another aspect these speakers excel, due to its wide, smooth off axis response. Every instrument, voices or other sounds are clearly defined on their own space, and makes the speakers disappear and leaves with the music. They sound extremely natural, especially on vocals, with no discernible coloration of their own. By combining the loudspeaker features with proven elements of the company's philosophy, the Dynaudio Contour 1.3 will produce a homogenous, uncolored sound to provide a pleasant musical experience.
