The Orelle CD-100 was a resounding success, winning awards and many accolades from the Hi-Fi press and public alike. Every part has been carefully chosen to create a symbiotic relationship within the CD player to realise the desired effect. The CD player appears to be reserved and mild, with no extravagant parts. The CD drawer is practically on stealth mode, only making an almost inaudible sound upon closing. A single-beam laser pick-up feeds signals to dual DA converters with 16-bit, four-times oversampling capabilities.

When first heard, the Orelle CD-100 will be a pleasant surprise for audiophiles. It performs beyond its price range, and does not sound like a budget player at all. Its generally detailed, transparent and natural sound is capable of pleasing the taste of many individuals. The midrange quality is sweetly pleasing. Vocal jazz seems to be its preferred choice of music. Voices are well presented, and tracks of a gentle swaying nature is Orelle CD-100's stronghold. The subtle nuances of the piano notes are presented very clearly and detailed. The Orelle CD-100 is a gentle sounding player that will create a joyful audio experience for many listeners.
