The Roksan Radius 5 is available in transparent acrylic, lacquered walnut veneer and lacquered maple veneer that borrows elements and technology from Roksan's world class record players to combine innovation and practicality in this stunning piece of design. The sound is taut and dynamic, and very musical. Bass is excellent with good tight grip. Detail is also good and the overall sound is smooth and dynamic. The player is equally adept at Rock or Classical music and does Jazz well too! It would do justice to a much higher quality cartridge if ever choose to upgrade from the Goldring. Rumble was simply not an issue, and surface noise was particualrly well handled, though the latter point is then casually related to the character of Roksan's Corus Black cartridge, which has a noticeable warmth and fullness. Matched to the unipivot NIMA arm, Radius 5 provides unparalleled performance demonstrating a perfect balance between design, technology and value. Its superior resolution and composure extracts plenty of detail in a well organised, crisp and informative manner.
