The Aragon 28K is a state-of-the-art remote control preamplifier, incorporating many advanced design and construction features in a superbly crafted unit that offers unparalleled flexibility and performance to the discriminating music lover. Construction is of military grade components including Tiffany gold RCA connectors. It features an oversized circuit board and chassis that allows optimized placement of the component parts. The circuit, from any input to output, is fully discrete Class A. All transistors are matched so they operate as a single transistor, creating the simplest and purest signal path possible for a preamplifier. To maintain purity, there is only one switch contact from input to output. By eliminating output coupling capacitors, the Aragon 28K yields a deep and controlled bass with absolutely no phase shift within the audible range.
To protect this extraordinarily pure circuit from unwanted noise, the internal power supply utilizes an encased toroidal transformer. Two outputs allow for biamping or, due to Aragon's advanced design and engineering, the additional output can be used to drive headphones directly from the Aragon 28K's discrete Class A circuit. The amplifier employs laser-trimmed rotary potentiometers for both volume and balance controls. These are the same controls expected to be found in a high-end preamp that is not compromised by remote operation. Motors are then added for remote rotation. The remote balance allows compensation for the deficiencies in a recording's stereo image by allowing the user to shift it into perfect focus from the listening position. There is an +5V DC power control output on the back of the Aragon 28K.
Not only the Aragon 28K comes with sheer power and drive, it operates in silence as well. It ranks very highly in neutrality and transparency, any semblance of grain is gone. Quick transitions between frequencies are done masterfully. It has lesser resolution in a passive design but has more drive, better defined bass and soundstaging. The Aragon 28K performs well beyond its price point and is becoming very rare and sought after by audiophiles.
