The Genesis I60 is an powerful amplifier designed to create an experience of unrivaled transparency, detail retrieval, dynamics and wide frequency extension. Hand-selected, precisely matched components are used throughout: custom made paper-in-oil capacitors with aluminum cans, and tantalum-film precision matched resistors are used on a hand-built discrete resistor potentiometer as a volume control. The volume control potentiometer is hard wired to a high-gain power amplification stage. The output transformers and the power transformer are laboriously hand wound to precise specifications tailored to the circuit and tubes. The point-to-point wiring uses solid-core silver wire in the entire signal path to reduce the resistance, capacitance and inductance normally associated with ordinary printed circuit boards. Every unit is first burned-in on the test bench, and then run in for over 100 hours before final test and packaging. Very little feedback is used, just enough to make the amplifier unconditionally stable.
The Genesis I60 will give an entire music collection a whole new life. It is clean sounding, refined, detailed and resolves low-level information to a surprising degree. The top end is open with plenty of detail, never sounding etched or hyped. The bass is very convincing and powerful, the overall presentation glowingly full and even. It has beautiful yet natural midrange, and an equally gratifying sense of depth and air. The I60 resolves inner detail without sounding cold or analytical and it handles the midrange truthfully without excessive bloom or warmth. The hiss and hum normally associated with vacuum tubes are completely absent, while retaining the richness and rightness of the best of amplifiers. It has rock solid imaging that complements the glowing midrange and valve sweetness. Many contemporary classical recordings sound technically perfect and baroque music is downright hypnotic. The string tone is ravishing and recordings sound exact with instruments and voices perfectly balanced and arrayed in a glowing acoustic. The amplifier makes beautiful music that is easy to listen to and enjoy for long periods of time, and presents with a uncommon degree of completeness. The Genesis I60 is a reasonably priced amplifier which is packed with high quality components and able to perform with premium loudspeakers beyond its price level.
