The Myryad MA-120 power amplifier has been designed to offer a combination of high quality sound reproduction and simple yet elegant styling. The build and finish have a no-nonsense, quality feel: simple brushed aluminum face with an understated logo; gold connections at the rear. It can be used to provide power for high quality stereo systems when partnered by a suitable preamplifier or a Myryad integrated amplifier in bi-amp or tri-amp systems. It can also be used in combination to power a full-surround music or Home Cinema sound system of the highest quality. The Myryad MA-120 has unbalanced line inputs plus directly linked line outputs, all on RCA phono sockets. It may be controlled remotely via the My-Link communications bus when used with other Myryad M series products. My-Link allows remote control of standby and mute functions.
The Myryad MA120 has a smooth range, is airy and transparent, but lacks the body of a more powerful amplifier. Bass is detailed and firm with good resolution. It is easy to hear differences with different bass sounds even if they are of really low frequency (below 50dB). Midrange is airy and excellent with placement of sounds in the stereo perspective. It possesses sparkling and airy treble with no sign of harshness or metallic sound. Perhaps the best that can be said of it is that it does not assert its own personality above the music. A complaint may be that the sound is a little on the bright side. The Myryad MA-120 excels in keeping each sound unaffected by other sound resolutions without losing the overall musical sense.
