The Scandyna Minipod is refreshingly different and redefines conventional speaker aesthetics with no compromises on sound quality. The stunning Minipod is essentially an amalgamation of three spheres to form one pressure-vessel, minimizing cabinet vibration, sound radiation and distortion, allowing sound waves to move more freely. The Scandyna Minipod deliver the sort of stereo performance that all enjoy: detailed highs, realistic vocals, and good stereo imaging. The plastic cabinet is not entirely for cosmetics; its rounded surfaces help disperse any internal standing waves. and the rounded front is likewise intended to keep interference from the front baffle to a minimum.
The Scandyna Minipod is one of the most articulate and definitive speakers. They produce an open, yet accurate and detailed sound stage. The cabinet design of the Scandyna Minipod makes placement a breeze. The speakers can be placed in most places, angles, and distances and produce just about the same quality of sound. The highs are rich and full, bass is smooth and rich. They perform exceptionally well in the upper frequencies - soaring vocals, piano, violins, horns, flutes. They sound as if the instruments and singers manifested in the same room as the listener. Classical and film music orchestral excels with bass solidity and wonderful clarity. Their sonic sweet spot is very large relative to their diminutive physical size, an aspect that will pleasantly surprise most audiophiles. The Scandyna Minipod speakers are fine examples of a very pragmatic compromise of sonic quality and refined aesthetics. In a smaller room, played at reasonable sound levels, they have to be part of the best musical loudspeakers in their price range.
