The Accuphase P-400 is a highest grade stereo power amplifier which forms a perfect combination with its highly regarded Accuphase C-240 preamplifier. The P-400 employs MOSFETs in a triple push-pull output stage that delivers high power of 200 watts per channel. One of the main features of the P-400 is that it can be switched to pure Class-A operation that offers minimum distortion and a higher degree of perfection in amplification, characteristics, especially in the high frequency range. The use of MOSFETs in the P-400 ensure a complete absence of notching distortion and reduces harmful transient intermodulation distortion
The Accuphase P-400 employs its original complementary sysmmetry push-pull, DC Servo Controlled amplifier circuitry that is designed to deliver the highest grade sound reproduction with its pure monophonic type construction. Operational and thermal stability is maintained at all times because constant energy flows from its power supplies to the amplifying devices. Minimum coloration of the the Accuphase P-400 is assured with the removal of capacitors from the Negative Feedback loop. Because of its outstanding linearity, every amplifier stage employs a push-pull circuitry with minimum application of negative feedback. This leads to extremely low distortion, high amplification stability, transient intermodulation prevents distortion and improves sound production for the Accuphase P-400. As a safety measure, the P-400 has a protective circuit to safeguard overheating. If the temperature of heat sinks rises to 100 degree centigrade, it will automatically switch from Class-A operation to normal operation. The Accuphase P-400 is a promising power amplifier overall with a perfect combination of impressive features and instrumentation amplifier topology, which allows fully balanced transmissions in all signal handling stages.
