The Arcam FMJ P35 is a perfect partner to the FMJ A32 in a high quality bi-amplified set-up, with suitable bi-wireable loudspeakers. The FMJ P35 is a current feedback amplifer based on Darlington bipolar transistors. It is a design with lower noise and much higher bandwidth. The Arcam amplifier is a flexible equipment that allows the owner to incorporate an optional third channel power amplifier module which lets him have the option to add home cinema capability to his home audio system. For maximum ease of operation, the P35 power amplifier has a wired remote control connection which allows for a power on/standby signal from the A32 Amplifier. Comparing to the Alpha series, the Arcam FMJ P35 is also extremely power efficient. The amplifier can be played loud for a few hours and it will only get a little warm. Its massive power supply can deliver effortless performance with almost any model of loudspeaker available. Though the amplifier's output power is only rated at 100 watts per channel, it can deliver an impressive peak current of more than 20 amps if required. The advanced protection circuitry can avoid any audio interference effects even when driven hard.
In listening tests, testers find that the Arcam FMJ P35 amplifier gives a detailed and accurate presentation while retaining the musical low fatigue "ARCAM" sound. It is delivered with extraordinary subtlety and control and able to give superb performance with either an integrated amplifier in a bi amp system or with a separate preamplifier. The FMJ P35 is designed with high resolution sound in mind from such sources as SACD and DVD-Audio. The result is outstanding with extremely low total harmonic distortion, bandwidth and power delivery. If the loudspeakers are bi-wireable, then bi-amping is one of the most cost-effective upgrades one can make to his hi-fi system. Bi-amplification is simply using separate amplifier channels for each speaker driver, so that the bass and treble units are independently driven. The FMJ P35's musical performance makes it stand clear from its competition. From hard-hitting dance music to a large scale orchestral performance, the P35 handles the power and subtleties of music with equal assurance. It is a stunning power amplifier and will match well with any Arcam pre/integrated amp.
