Description :
The Carver CM-1090 amplifier's sound is very neutral and it's got a wackload of power. Even at low volumes, the CM-1090 excels at being clear and full without loss in detail. There is absolutely no hum or hiss at any volume levels. Designed by Bob Carver, the layout of the various functions and buttons is simple but very adequate. Motorized volume knob and "direct CD" input that bypass the triple tone controls are a couple interesting features. There is also a "B" speaker setting that makes the second pair of speaker act as ambience sound. The circuitry design also consists of Bob Carver's well known "Sonic Hoography" circuit which contributes to its impecable sound without any coloration or distortion. As far as asthetics are concerned, it is very elegant. With it's two analogue "old fashion" power meters combined to an overall modern look, the result is stunning.
