The Chord SPM 1200B is easy to operate and extremely powerful, which is likely to do with the the switch mode power supply. It is the first amplifier maker that utilizes the design in the consumer audio market, then other companies such as Linn and Jeff Rowland decided to follow suit. The Chord SPM 1200B power amplifier sounds very refined, having extended details and resolution along with enormous power. It is incredibly neutral, powerful, and yet delicate. The projected soundstage is also huge, enveloping and rock solid, satisfying in almost all sonic aspects. This amplifier is well suited for electrostatics and planars or speakers with low impedance.
