The Naim Audio NACD3-5 introduced around 1998. On good recordings the sound was fast, tight, rhythmically certain, and spectacularly open and transparent, with an ease of presentation bordering on swagger. Unlike the CD3, the CD3.5 is upgradable with a flatcap external power supply to give you better quality sound.
