The Exposure 2010 cd player is the kind of cd player that expects to be used for long term. It's generally smooth and easy on the ear, and noticeably lacking in any harshness or grain, which are often the by-products of obsessive attention to detail. Tonally, it's pretty much neutral, though there's an element of warmth. There is a near-total absence of digital grain or edge which sometimes seem like a lack of resolving power, but it's only occasionally noticeable and certainly doesn't get in the way of the essence of the music. In general this is an extremely musical player with an innate sense of how the music should flow. When it comes to complex music pieces, this player may not be the one that will appeal to specialists who want to get the last ounce of resolution from their music and require a finely detailed machine specifically tailored to their musical favourites. But for general use, it offers extremely good sound and a whole lot of fun with a wide variety of musical styles. In other words, it is the perfect addition to a decent system. Though the Exposure 2010 cd player may not quite a bargain at this price, it shows enough virtues in terms of musicality, tone and finish to justify the entrance fee.
